Upper Valley Association of Realtors® Installs New Officers, Celebrates Service Across Southeast Idaho

The Upper Valley Association of Realtors® (UVAR) recently gathered to install its new slate of officers—an annual tradition that’s equal parts celebration and recommitment. It’s a chance to recognize the volunteers who strengthen professionalism and collaboration across Southeast Idaho, and to welcome incoming leaders who will help guide the association in the year ahead.

What is UVAR—and how does it connect to NAR®, Idaho Realtors®, and the Snake River MLS?

UVAR is the local Realtor® association serving real estate professionals in the Upper Valley region of Southeast Idaho. Like other local associations, UVAR supports members through education, professional standards, and leadership opportunities—while helping advance the work of the broader Realtor® organization.

• National Association of Realtors® (NAR): UVAR operates as part of the larger Realtor® structure, helping members serve consumers with professionalism and consistency.
• Idaho Realtors® (IR): UVAR participates locally in the statewide mission—supporting members with training, resources, and advocacy relevant to Idaho.
• Snake River MLS: The MLS is a key tool that supports cooperation among brokerages by sharing accurate listing data across Eastern Idaho.

Bob Canning honored for service as President and Past President

Real Estate Two70’s Bob Canning was honored for his service and leadership at UVAR, including roles as President and Past President. These roles help provide continuity and steady guidance as the association welcomes new officers. at UVAR.

Jordan Cherrington concludes her term as President and becomes Past President

This event also marked an important leadership transition for Jordan Cherrington of Real Estate Two70. Jordan concluded her tenure as President and officially moved into the Past President role—continuing the tradition of mentorship and stability within UVAR’s leadership cycle.

Vince Haley becomes the new President of UVAR

UVAR also welcomed Vince Haley of Idaho’s Real Estate as the association’s new President. Association leadership plays a meaningful part in keeping our local market strong—supporting professionalism, education, and collaboration that ultimately benefits consumers.

In addition to his work in real estate, Vince Haley has a record of civic involvement in Rexburg. City Planning & Zoning minutes show Vince served as Vice Chair on the Rexburg Planning & Zoning Commission, including actively participating in commissioner discussion and helping guide meeting dialogue.

During the Rexburg Planning & Zoning meeting on May 8, 2025, the City formally recognized Vince for his service. The minutes reflect that Mayor Merrill presented him a plaque and expressed appreciation for his work on the commission and as Vice Chair. The same record notes Vince offered thoughtful parting remarks emphasizing that each commissioner must vote according to their judgment—without feeling personal guilt or undue pressure—because the commission functions as a deliberative body rather than as any one individual’s decision.

Vince’s interest in local governance also extended beyond the commission. The City of Rexburg’s official candidate listing for the 2025 municipal election includes Vince Haley among the filed candidates for Rexburg City Council. In late October 2025, he also participated in a “Meet the Candidate” interview with BYU-Idaho Radio, where he discussed why he was running and the issues he felt mattered most to the community.
