River Rock Estates was another subdivision officially recorded right at the time of the recession (July 9, 2008). Unfortunately, this stalled the development of this subdivision for many years. However, by 2023 most of the subdivision has been built on. This is a wonderful option for people looking to be just outside of town and have a large lot. Access to the subdivision became much better once the Thorton exit was created off of Highway 20. Streets in the subdivision include River rock Dr., Woodland Drive, Sequoia Court, Driftwood Drive, Hickory Court, and Cedar Cove. This area has Rexburg generally has a high water table which makes it difficult to have basements.
